Tax & Rate Changelog

A dated, reverse-chronological log of everything material that changes on MyOvertimePay — from statutory tax revisions and DOL overtime thresholds to new calculator tools and design iterations.

The Log's Standing Rule

Every future content, rate, or design change gets a dated entry; lastmod dates in the sitemap always reflect real content-update dates, never deploy dates.

We reject artificial metadata timestamp updates. If a calculation algorithm, statutory bracket, or page layout changes, it is documented with its genuine effective date. Readers, payroll specialists, and search engine crawlers can rely on our public timestamps as truthful verification markers.

Our Verification & Timestamp Commitments

Online financial and labor calculators frequently suffer from "stale date drift" — automated continuous integration pipelines bump the <lastmod> date on every commit, obscuring whether the underlying wage formula was checked against 2026 IRS schedules or left unverified since 2021. MyOvertimePay enforces strict governance:

Zero Deploy Vanity

We never bump dates for routine continuous integration builds, automated test runs, server redeployments, or whitespace fixes. A date change always signifies a substantive human review or code change.

1-to-1 Sitemap Alignment

Every <lastmod> tag in our XML sitemaps strictly mirrors the date of real content revisions or statutory verifications, giving search engines and readers truthful signals.

Statutory Precision

When IRS tax brackets, DOL regular rate regulations (29 CFR Part 778), or state overtime thresholds change, the updated schedule is immediately logged here and linked to the source rule.

Statutory Updates & Corrections

Labor laws and local tax rates are living frameworks. When state legislatures pass new daily overtime thresholds, when city revenue departments adjust wage taxes, or when the Department of Labor issues an updated Field Operations Handbook interpretation, we update our calculations and log the change here.

If you notice an impending statutory adjustment, local ordinance change, or computational discrepancy, please alert our editorial desk:

  • Methodology Review: Review the primary statutory references and mathematical derivations on our Calculation Methodology page.
  • Legal & Tax Scope: Understand why customized W-4 elections or Section 125 benefit deductions cause variance on our Legal Disclaimer page.
